I am not a vocal person. But, this really annoys me.
So he died. Why do all my friends on facebook have to “RIP Steve Jobs” or “Thank you Steve Jobs”? How lame is that? Unless you know him personally, stop! Don’t get me wrong, his contributions to the tech industry is unquestioned and arguably unrivaled. Heck, his vision helped revive and improve the silicon valley, which ultimately helped me find employment and ultimately enabled my business to thrive, for which I am very grateful. Yet, first of all, posting “RIP Steve Jobs” on facebook, twitter, sina, myspace, friendster (gasp), or any other form of social media, TELLING him to rest in peace, is LAME, because, this may be news to some, the guy is DEAD, and dead people can’t logon to facebook to read your status update! If you knew him personally, I can marginly see it as a way to show grievance. Otherwise, what grievance do y’all got? Are you one of those people grieving that it was the iPhone 4S instead of the iPhone 5? Oh god. He did not single handedly design and implement the iphone, ipod, ipad, macbook, etc. Would y’all care about people who actually put in the late night hours designing and implementing the dog gone apple products? No siree, it’s all Steve Jobs! (sarcasm) Just because you have an iPhone does not mean he is your daddy. Just because you have an iPhone does not mean you are a techie. In fact, just because you own any apple products does NOT make you cool. In fact, one of my loser friends (an UTTER loser and I don’t use the word loser lightly) was f-ing Steve Jobs and apple on facebook for not announcing iPhone 5 yesterday. WHAT? Just because you own an iPhone gives you the right to cuss at one of the greatest visionaries of our time (or at anyone, for that matter)? Stop being so full of yourselves people. Steve Jobs is NOT your girlfriend. Snap out of it and stop being blinded by the glossiness and shine!
Secondly, it’s not like we didn’t know he was going to die. He has had cancer for a long, long time, and we all knew his time was about to be up. Just look at his how skinny his body was at the end of his run, much like you look at Barry Bonds and you KNOW he’s been on steroids and has shrunken…well, let me not go there. In fact, Steve has gotten a liver transplant years ago, whereby he paid his way to the front of the line to receive the transplant. This is very anti-Walter Payton and anti-American (well, pro-capitalism…)

Bottom line is, the great Steve Jobs has made a positive difference on many people’s lives, including my own, for which I am thankful, despite all the aforementioned reasons why NOT to like him. But this is not about Steve. This is about what is wrong with the abuse of social media and what is wrong with America. All these “RIP Steve Job” nonsense status messages is just collective spam, from people who ought to be better than that. If you know him personally and he is in fact a great guy, fine. Heck, even if you know him personally, or at least had a run in with him, even if he may be a jerk, fine. Otherwise, y’all are just posers. POSERS! (I just realized posers and losers don’t differ by much, literally and figuratively) I do not need 248 people telling me he’s dead. Post something useful. Elaborate. Express an opinion. Add value to the world why don’t you. Y’all are certainly educated enough or knowledgeable enough to post something more than “Steve is dead” or “RIP Steve Jobs” right? Oh wait, maybe you don’t know Steve that well after all, other than him sucking away hundreds if not thousands of dollars from you. Maybe that’s why y’all don’t have anything better to say or any value to add to the world. Posers.
